If it doesn't have postage, it doesn't belong inside of a mailbox. Something like this would be brought back to the office and it should go back to the courier who didn't perform their job.

Great replies all. FedEx allowed in mailbox? (2)

DR said they come back and returned to offenders. Supposed to be emailing me the exact language so I will have it next time this comes up. Notified other 2 carriers also, so we’re all on same page.

We’re getting quite the collection of amazon packages at the office. PM has contacted district and district has contacted amazon to get them. They did once, haven’t been back since Christmas. If still here and growing by next Christmas, I’ve been suggesting using them for dirty Santa at the office Christmas breakfast, lol

Ours get donated to charity. P.O. Can’t give them employees since they were addressed to “customers”.

Grieve the order.

PO 603. 352.4

352.4 Mailable Matter Not Bearing Postage When you find mailable matter in a box without postage paid addressed to, or intended for, the person in whose box it is deposited, take the matter to the Post Office for treatment in accordance with DMM 146.22. If general distribution of the same bill, circular, or other matter was made on the route, return two samples to your postmaster or supervisor with a statement of the number of similar pieces without postage you observed in boxes on the route.

We bring non USPS packages in the mailboxes back to the office for processing as postage due or return to the original shipper.

However, circulars found in mailboxes are brought into the office, and a phone call is made asking the distributor not to use boxes. I have been told by PM we can NO LONGER charge postage for circulars left in boxes by another person or service, we can just request they cease and desist. Any others get this same direction?

Our offices ship Amazon packages that are brought back from mailboxes back to our plant. They come back to us often, but we just keep sending them back to the plant!

Because...if FedEx is allowed to put parcels in the box, then UPS will put parcels in the box, and OnTrac and DHL and.....then we have no room for OUR parcels AND we lose the vital control we have over those boxes as a unique asset to our company. Mailboxes are looked upon by customers as secure and only they and the mail carrier may place or remove anything. This concept has been built over a century. I don't believe we should causally discard it.

I said same thing today. With all fedex I’m picking up, just wrap them up and use for Christmas. We will all be surprised!!

USPS box is off limits to any private contractors ! Xtra parcel box at address with all service delivery service label OK. Any solicitation for business (house cleaning, trash cleanup, non-profit) is pulled ! When properly advised of the every single box ( about seventy bucks on this route !) delivery rate such folks will not waste their time soliciting business on their own time or gas ! Extra - curricular political solicitation is definitely pulled. Seems to particularly raise the ire of the PM and uber mangalment !
